First of all, a big hi and welcome to my wonderful pupils. Not surprisingly, they 'found' me, in the cyber wilderness, but this is to be expected, what with an inherent technological advantage that the youngsters have. I hope you find this blog to be a good read, incomprehensible at times, but nonetheless, a good read is what I strive to accomplish.
Have finally finished The Time Traveler's Wife'. My sister bought it eons ago, way before hearsay of a possible movie was on the way and she had egged me to read it for the longest time. There were just so many books that I had wanted to peruse before settling into a lovely fiction, romantic, love-laden read. One that I had not indulged in a very long time. Couple of things had set me thinking. If I were born with a genetic abnormality and could be transported back and forth in time, what would I change or have done differently? Usually, in stories where characters are intertwined with the caresses of time, the unspoken rule of thumb is that they are never to meddle with anyone or anything that they see, in other words, they are never to change the courses of fate or the paths that their pseudo-persona encounters. Otherwise, the world is doomed to end. Think 'Back to the future'.
But, this world as we know it, is doomed to end anyhow. But, that's beside the point. Let's just say, you can go back and forth in time and you CAN change the courses of fate and/or meddle with the paths and our future 'us' or past 'us' partake, and the world WILL not end as a result of our meddling.
What will you change?
For one, I would want to be a little braver and wiser. I've always thought that I was a late-bloomer. In terms of garnering courage for even the littlest of things, like sending back a wrong order, or making sure that I had the perfect size, colour and style of shoes, instead of shrinking back into my insecure crux and being 'nice', settling for whatever that is laid in front of me.
In terms of standing up for myself, when I should have. And taking back words or letters I should never have said and written.
People say that if you hadn't done this, or gone through that, you would not have had this wonderful experience, or become this great person.
Nevertheless, there are some things that you could have done without. And these are the things that you wish you could change.
Well, I guess I could never be Henry. I mean, with so many secrets of the future and so much details and memories that he kept with him, silent and protected, I could never.
I'm too much of a blabbermouth to deal with such responsibilities. Especially with those that involves potential damnation of the world.
Anyway..... thought I'd upload some random pictures. Some were from the National Day preview with my kids. Some were with my cousins, two sets of photos from two different flea markets! Hehe... Some are just of me. Heh.
Enjoy!

play it softly, so gently♥
