*sounds of the vacuum cleaner*
Dusting off the cobwebs on my blog
It's so dusty that my eyes get misty
Dusting off the cobwebs on my blog
Hopefully this entry gets you in a frenzy!
*thank you, bows*
Ya well, I've had some time to myself finally, in the midst of late night scrabbling, marking, sleeping off my exhaustion, and it got a cool Sunday morning to finally conjure up an entry. I've delayed soo many things, including pictures of my own birthday! First up, I wanna say a hearty but belated, congratulations to Miss Jayz!!! On her lovely newborn daughter, Ratna! I saw her picture on ur blog, and she looks just like a little angel! Hopefully J reads my blog so she knows I wrote bout her little girl..hehe..
I must say that for the first time in my 23 years, this first week of fasting has been quite trying on my physical health. Teaching with a dry throat, and my high metabolism burning off the energy in me has made me prone to headaches and lethargy. I feel like i'm back in my JC days, where I have a million things to do but have had nothing to eat. But my body has coped well, and it has adjusted to the routine now. I can even go without sahur, those are the times when I'm jus so tired to wake up. Even dragging myself up for dawn prayers can be a challenge. *slaps hand, bad bad Hanis*
But, the atmosphere at home has been quite cheery...thanks to having my auntie around. You see, she has down's syndrome, and since she is already 38 years old (most people with down's syndrome live up to 35 years old), her mind has regressed to an IQ of a 3-year old. You have to tell her EVERYTHING.
Like the other day, when I was just leaving for work at bout 9 am, and I saw her sitting on the mattress. I thought to myself that if I didn't ask her to lie down, she'll probably stay seated the whole day, till my mum gets home at 4. So i did.
ANd the other days where my sister and I had to clean off the sofa sheets, and the infamous chair in which she removed her bowels on because she couldn't or wouldn't tell any of us that she had to go to the toilet.
But, she has brought a lot of laughter into the house. Even when most of the time, we're laughing at her antics, but then again, she laughs with us too. SHe loves to sing, and my sister jokes that we should record her singing and call it, 'Mak Ijah's greatest re-mixes!' (cos she gives the songs she sings a personal touch, *winks*)
So, breaking fast is beginning to be one of my favourite times of the day. I have my mum, bro and sis, and now my auntie with me.
I have some pictures taken on my birthday, these are the same ones you could get off my guy's blog. But, I will attempt to write in more INTERESTING and FLATTERING captions/stories that explain the pics better. hahahaha.....
Here I am, all rushed out. See the shadow? That's alfiah, she came to my house to record a couple of songs, and I was so busy recording that I had only like 30 mins to get dressed and dolled-up for him! I guessed I pulled it off.

THIS guy, this sweet guy, was already waiting under my block for 15 minutes! With flowers and a camera ready to snap me, nonetheless!! I decided to use a more flattering picture of him, instead of the one he put on his blog.

Flowers! I dun usually get excited for flowers, but when it comes from him and on my bday, of course I loved it!

We decided to take a cab, instead of the bike. We wanted to be transported, or rather, HE wanted to be transported instead of transporting. I'm used to this kind of treatment. Haaahahahahaahaha!

Man, it was reaaaaaly dark at the restaurant.

aaahhh, its brighter now..

See that massive gooey chocolate thing I am about to eat? SINFUL!

Went to Geylang. It was already 1030pm by the time we got there. So shops were closing and not many people around.

Thank you baby for the lovely birthday!!!!!!!

ANd we've finally gotten a proper pair of matching baju kurung!!!! Finally, after the 4 years we've been together, 4 years of wearing previous year's baju and trying to match them, we bought a couple set!!!! Hehehehe, made him spend a tad more than he would've liked to, but you like right, baby?
play it softly, so gently♥
